Heights Craftsman Kitchen
Kitchen · The Heights, Houston · 2025
A 1920s bungalow kitchen opened to the dining room without losing the Craftsman bones the family wanted to keep living with.
This Heights bungalow had a hardworking 1990s galley that made the rest of the house feel smaller than the lot. The owners wanted a kitchen that could host homework, holidays, and still read as Craftsman — not a glassy insert from a different decade.
We kept the original dining-room casing, moved the range to the long wall, and built an island that does homework and holiday plating. Finishes were chosen with Houston kitchen remodel living in mind: warm stone, hardware that will not date in two seasons, and lighting that survives both cloudy January afternoons and 6:30 p.m. traffic.
If you are planning a similar kitchen remodel in Houston, start with the wall you are afraid to open. That is usually the decision that unlocks the rest. Cost drivers (not a fake average) live in the kitchen cost guide.
